Martin Chaseling Renwick
DIRECTOR & FOUNDER

Marty’s lifelong love affair with music and sound was sparked joyously at eight years old when he first learned the piano, soon after singing as a boy soprano in the medieval Hampstead St John’s Church. He used his choir scholarship money to fund his early passions: HiFi, records and racing bicycles. When his family returned to Australia, this musical obsession drew him to a music store selling instruments, where he also played DJ - delighting in curating vinyl records to match the personality of each individual, as they walked through the door. By 1980, Marty returned to Oxford, where he bought his first Linn Sondek LP12 turntable and was so impressed that he went on to establish ‘Absolute Sound in Oxford’ in 1985, undergoing training with Linn in Glasgow.

Marty’s roots in the musical landscape run parallel with his family history; his kid brother, Professor James Renwick, became the Head of Teaching at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and both brothers continue to sing in performances to this day. He then immersed himself in a 25-year chapter within the film industry, spent two years working in Robotics under the Stanford MD3 program at the University of Technology, Sydney, and worked for five years as an event director. Today, he has gleefully returned to the world of curating audio founding Lux Sydney. Turning high fidelity into an emotionally profound, soulful experience and bringing this directly into clients’ homes with the brands he curates so lovingly. It’s an enduring passion; Marty still lives and breathes live performance, attending three to four gigs every week.

Brad Serhan
SPEAKER DESIGNER & INSTALLATION SPECIALIST

As the founder of Serhan Swift and Brigadier Audio, Brad has spent decades transforming physics into musical joy. A true Aussie icon who still dominates the local soccer field, Brad’s friendship with Marty spans multiple hemispheres, having steered Marty's operations while he was based in the UK in the 80’s.

At Lux Sydney, Brad also channels his talent into the physical layout of spaces, as one of our room customisation experts. He physically maps out the architecture of the room. For Brad, installing a high-fidelity system is a celebratory, highly tailored art form, designed to make spaces sing.

Stewart Amos
SENIOR SOUND ENGINEER & CONSULTANT

Stewart Amos, Senior Sound Engineer and Consultant brings an extensive legacy of technical knowledge and experience in live and studio environments, with over 40 years in the industry, beginning at Autel Systems in the 70’s through to being the trusted Sound Engineer for the NSW chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects. Many years of touring with both local and international artists, including a number of years in corporate audio/visual, along with extensive installation and design work in widely varied environments, perhaps most satisfyingly expressed as one of the original founding members of Rhinoceros recording studios in Sydney.

Stewart possesses remarkable attention to detail and a memory that is as vivid and immersive as cinematic sound and vision. Stewart is also one of Marty’s oldest friends. Having shared a lifetime of conversations where no topic has been left untouched, their relationship brings a profound layer of creativity and mutual understanding to the heart of Lux Sydney.

David Reading
HiFi SPECIALIST & PRODUCT DEMONSTRATOR

We are incredibly excited to welcome David Reading to the team. A passionate music lover since his teenage years, David has spent a lifetime cultivating a deep appreciation for fine HiFi systems, with a particular dedication to vinyl records. He lives and breathes the music that he loves; and most nights of the week, he can be found listening to legendary artists like Jimmy Smith on his incredible HiFi system, or bopping to his favourite musicians alongside his best mate, Marty.

David is all heart and brings his enormous generosity to the brand. His pursuit of timeless analog quality also extends into the world of elite automotive design. A dedicated Porsche enthusiast, he previously owned a Porsche 997 GT3 sporting the fitting number plate ANALOG.

David is thrilled to bring his great passion and commitment to the analog experience to Lux Sydney, as we launch our premium HiFi products.

Gemma Quilty
CREATIVE CONTENT SPECIALIST

Gemma brings a strong sense of human connection, storytelling, and a love of music to Lux Sydney. A Sydney-based documentary filmmaker, writer & photographic artist holding a Bachelor of Visual Communications from Western Sydney University, her work has been backed by Screen Australia, shortlisted for Tropfest, and earned her the inaugural, SheDoc Grant from Documentary Australia. She was invited onto the committee of OzDox (The Australian Documentary Forum), where she managed industry forums.

Gemma pairs thoughtful vision with an intimate connection to music - influenced by years of involvement in Sydney’s live music scene. With her studio experience managing high-end digital studios and design accounts like the Sydney Festival, for Gemma, being a part of Lux Sydney is an exciting, collaborative journey with like-minded friends. She endeavours to echo the energy of the music that she loves and Marty's emotive life force.

David Allen
LEGAL CONSULTANT

We are incredibly proud to welcome David Allen to the team as our Legal Consultant. David brings a wealth of high-level legal expertise, having dedicated much of his career to advocacy, ethics, and critical issues of public integrity. Most notably, working on two of Australia’s most vital public inquiries: the historic Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.

David has an unwavering commitment of fighting for what is right; deep expertise in navigating regulatory environments and upholding ethical frameworks. On top of the immense professional value he brings, David is also a great friend of Marty’s - a foundation built on deep trust, integrity, and shared vision.
